🎵 ”Five hundred-twenty-five-thousand-six hundred minutes. Five hundred-twenty-five thousand-six hundred moments so dear. Five hundred-twenty-five thousand-six hundred minutes. How do you measure a year? … In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee, in inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife? In five hundred-twenty-five thousand- six hundred minutes, how do you measure a year in the life? …. How about love? How about love? … Measure in love- Seasons of love …” 🎶
-Rent, Seasons of Love
Last night, after reading my bedtime devotional, I couldn’t
get this song out of my head. Seasons of Love, from the musical, Rent. I’ve never seen the musical, but I know this song. Towards the end of my devotion, it said, “As we plan our days, let’s resolve to prioritize time with Jesus. Even if it’s just five minutes. Allow Him to ease the tension and bring you the true rest your soul needs. Relax and know Him. Time with Jesus will be the best-spent minutes of your day” -Holly Murray. The devotion was titled, "What Jesus Can Do with Five Minutes."
Do you know that there are one thousand-four hundred-forty minutes in one day? Think about that: One thousand-four hundred-forty minutes, and this devotion suggested to spend five minutes with Jesus. Five. 1-2-3-4-5. Out of the one thousand-four hundred-forty minutes given to us in a day, at least just spend five of those with Jesus ...
Hmmm....
The Bible says we are to love God with all of our heart, all of our mind, all of our soul, and all of our strength ... Dedicating "five" minutes to The One whom my soul loves? Whom I long for? Who loves me like no other ... Something's wrong with that math. (maybe it's new math?? LOL)
David says in Psalm 84:10, "Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere." One Day. The whole day. All one thousand-four hundred-forty minutes.
This. This is what I want. I want all of my moments spent with Jesus - aware of His Presence and living in His arms of love...
"Five hundred-twenty-five thousand-six hundred minutes ... How do you measure a year in the life? ... How about love? Measure in Love - Seasons of love... "
1 John 4:8 says that anyone who does not love does not know God because God is Love.
I want to measure all of my moments - all of my seasons all of my days - by LOVE.
In good times, in bad times. in joy and in strife ... my standard of measure is Love - because God is love.
He is with me always...
Ain't no mountain high enough, ain't no valley low enough to keep Him from me. I am His and HE is mine.
Therefore, five hundred-twenty-five thousand-six hundred minutes...
How do I measure a year in my life?
I'll measure it in Love - seasons of Love .... All of my moments and all of my seasons - not five minutes a day - but all of the minutes in a day - all the minutes in a year - and all the moments of my life. Amen!
... What's your standard of measure?
L⏰VE!!!!!
I L❤️VE this blog! The concept of time has always captivated me, especially since our days are measured by it! When I decided to give my life to Christ, it was about time!! My decision then and now is to give everything I own to Him, because it all belongs to the Lord. Our lives are measured by time and how we choose to spend it. The front of the clock is called the “face” and realizing daily we are to seek His face…all the sudden my perspective of time altered in my thinking. As I choose to surrender everything daily to the Lord I always start facing my greatest challenge…time. Gonna go spend a little time with the Lord…ever…
Every minute of every day!
